A Healthy Life Style Will Make You a Better Blogger!
You can’t just sit there on your fat ass all day long and write on your blog! I know you want to. I do too. I wanna see my blog grow to infinity and beyond! And I spend way too much time behind my monitors – writing and pinning and doing SEO. I love it! And I can go on for days.
I get it!
I DO understand you!
BUT…
Here is the thing about how to become a better blogger:
I noticed that taking time off to do something completely different can actually boost your productivity. And though I am an introvert who doesn’t do a lot of talking to others, I found out that it was an advantage for me to go out there in the real world and meet with a friend once in a while.
On a café or in the gym!
Health is an essential component of productivity. When we take care of our physical and mental well-being, we are able to accomplish more and perform better in both our personal and professional lives.
I think there are some main areas in our lives that keep us healthy.
- Doing what you love
- Healthy food
- Exercise
- Some kind of inter action with other people
- Get sleep enough
1. Doing What You Love
The one thing that is essential for being happy and fulfilled is to do what you love to do! It is as simple as that. People who are not satisfied in their jobs get grumpy and die early. The happier you are the healthier you are!
Doing what you love to do will ALWAYS make you much more productive and much more creative. The feeling of purpose following a dream is some of the best fuels you can pour into the tank of your soul!
You will inspire others. At least you will at some point. In the beginning no one will know you but eventually you will be some one people will follow. If you show people your fire they will respect you and follow you.
Chances of success is far greater when you are doing meaningful work than if you hate what you are doing.
You get the chance to help other people through your articles. When you get to that point in your career where you can give back, this alone will make you much happier.
If you love blogging and writing articles is your passion, this will make you a better blogger.
2. Healthy Food.
First of all – I do not preach! I have NO idea if it is more healthy to be vegan, vegetarian or a meat lover! I strongly recommend you do what you think is best for you!
I don’t know why I’m a vegetarian. It just happened.
In the 90ties I got this subtle idea: What if I became a vegetarian? I wasn’t inspired by anyone so I don’t know where the idea came from. But it grew and slowly I dropped eating meat. Maybe over a period of a year or so I ate less and less and ended up with a diet without meat.
I didn’t have a reason for doing it. Not religious about it. Didn’t think in health related terms. Neither did I think of animal welfare.
I began to buy more organic food, less processed food and I began to check the how the products were produced or grown. I also began checking additives and chemicals.
At some point it occurred to me that healthy living included mental work too. Afterall our thoughts is a big part of our lives so why not get more conscious about my psyche and what I chose to think about. So I started meditating. But that’s another story!
Eating a healthy diet is also crucial for maintaining good health and productivity. A diet that is rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein can provide the necessary nutrients and energy to keep the body and mind functioning at their best. It is also important to stay hydrated and limit the intake of processed foods and added sugars.
When I eat healthy I get more energy to put into writing my articles and become a better blogger.
You probably already know what is good for you!
3. Exercise
Exercise is one of the most effective ways to improve overall health and boost productivity. Regular physical activity can improve cardiovascular fitness, increase energy levels, and reduce stress. It also helps to improve mood and cognitive function, allowing us to focus better and think more clearly.
In school I never participated in gym classes. The others always wanted to play foot ball and I hated it. I was around 18 years old and just started on business collage when a new guy came to town and opened a Karate training centre. His name was Henk Wieland and he was from the Netherlands. He was crazy. And skilled. He had the 6. dan in Nippon Kempo.
The story goes he was in town one day and was approached by two dealers asking him to buy weed. He wasn’t interested and it kinda developed a little. Suddenly he was surrounded by bikers. News paper said they were 17. Last man standing was Henk.
A few days later he was interviewed to a news paper where he said he didn’t care if they were 17 or 1,7000! The latter would just take a little longer.
I trained in his dojo for several years until he closed down and disappeared.
But shortly after another guy started a Kung Fu club in my town and of course I was in. Kung Fu was much more vibrant and dynamic than karate so this became my new training.
Unfortunately I now live in a city with no serious martial arts dojos so I have to do my exercising my self now.
Exercising keeps you alive and vibrant! It creates more energy in you and for you and you need a lot of energy when starting a blog. You can use this energy to become a good blogger.
5. Get Enough Sleep
YES! This is important. Don’t believe Arnold Schwarzenegger when he recommend only 6 hours of sleep. I’m sure it works for him, bet we are different. Only 6 hours of sleep can emergency work for me a few days, But 5-6 hours every day in a month made me collapse. My body said stop. My immune system was torn down – which it usually never is, and I cougth a Covid. One week in bed and three more weeks before I started working and one and a half month in total before I was on top.
That was a long time ago and it was a tough job.
Sleep is everything. Some see it as wasted time but I love sleeping. If you don’t get enough sleep you can’t handle stressed situations. Your tolerance for conflict will rise. Your patience will disappear.
The better sleep the less stress. This too will make you a good blogger.
6. Meditation
Meditation is another effective way to improve health and productivity. It can help to reduce stress and anxiety, improve focus, and increase feelings of calm and well-being. Regular meditation can also help to improve sleep quality, which is crucial for maintaining good health and productivity.
I see meditation as mental hygiene. We need to shower and cleanse our body regularly. In fact, we need to do the same with our thoughts. I started meditating in 1990 and it has given me a much deeper foundation. I am closer to who I really am and I when people are unfair or treat me disrespectful or call me names, I can hear it with out the need to explode in their faces. I can decide to walk away peacefully.
We are strange creatures. We regularly need to go from one side of a spectrum to the other. Awake – Sleep. Work – relaxation. Exercise – relaxation. Thinking – non thinking (meditation). Create – enjoy. Balance is hard to find.
Love is never in the extremes. Balance is a prerequisite for Love.
Meditation helps you keep the balance. Meditation or Mindfulness will help you distance yourself – from your self. This means you will see things more clearly. You will be able to see things from multiple perspectives, which is VITAL if you want to become a great blogger! Your articles need to cast light on a matter from multiple angles. This will give you more readers.
When it Rains on the Priest it dribbles on the Bellringer!
This is a Danish proverb and you probably have no idea how true this is. It can mean positive things as well as negative.
If you study zen you won’t get any where without a teacher! Some things you can study yourself and it will take longer than if you learn from a teacher. Afterall, what are schools for?
The people who become millionaires make sure they are surrounded by millionaires because being in their presence always helps! You will become a millionaire a lot faster if your friends are millionaires.
People tend to gather in flocks of likeminded. If you go with the homeless you probably won’t become a millionaire. If all your friends are blue collar workers you probably won’t become a millionaire either.
You simply have to move your butt up the ranks and get close to people wo have success to get success yourself!
It is as simple as that!
If you want to become a successful blogger you need to interact with other successful bloggers! Create joint venture articles with some of them. Write great comments on their blogs. Offer them something and find an excuse to mingle with them. Try guest posting.
You won’t be a successful blogger if you only spend time writing articles. You really need to mingle. You need to be social online to move up. Be an expert with a new angle and they will find you interesting.
A Healthy Lifestyle
In conclusion, taking care of our health is absolutely crucial for being productive and being a better blogger. By incorporating regular exercise, healthy eating, meditation, and some kind of social interaction into our daily lives, you can improve your overall well-being, increase energy levels and focus, and ultimately achieve more in both your personal and professional life.
